“The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.”

Exodus 14:14 NLT

Ayooo! QUIT BEING SCARED!!!!

That’s how I imagine in my mind Yahweh telling Moses again and again and again not to be afraid; to lead His people. That He WILL be with him.

It’s also how I imagine the Lord deals with us sometimes. Fear is one of the most tolerated sins in the church. As believers we tend to be clamorous and extremely offended at the obvious sins against God while the fearful believer goes unaddressed. We look at the “big” sins people commit and call it disobedience and many other things but the one nurturing fear in their heart and mind not THAT big a deal huh…

The problem with fear is that it keeps us from experiencing our Father with ease, gladness and in love. It hinders us from running to our Father in childlike faith. Fear keeps us timid, cowardly and always asking for God to do the bare minimum in our lives when God calls us heirs. So you woke up this morning needing help with that addiction but fear keeps you from asking of Holy Spirit’s help because you think He’s mad about something you did yesterday? So you’re not sure how that bill will get paid and fear cripples you so instead of running to the throne to make your request known, you run to your third job? The one that keeps you sleepless?

Don’t let the enemy make you think that being fearful of Gods help not being enough for you or God’s plan failing is any less sinful than someone’s bad language or someone’s tendency to resolve things in anger. It’s not. Essentially what you’re saying is that God isn’t really who He says He is. Not agreeing with God and His Word because of fear or unbelief or anything else you’d like to insert, is in fact distasteful to our Father. It’s what caused Zechariah’s mouth to be shut up until He finally agreed at his son’s birth that his son would be called John, just as the angel instructed.

“Do not fear” is on repeat in the word of God. Just read the whole bible and surely you’ll find it somewhere in there! Anywho, go repent for being fearful, ask God for His help in moments you sense fear attempting to grip you... then go to His throne BOLDLY and ask of what you need; all of what you need. Because if you opened your eyes today, surely you need Him!
