POWER OF THE TONGUE!

I had been thinking about what to write for today’s devotional. As I am talking to God and asking him to put something on my heart, I was on my way to drop my baby off at school. On the way home, the lanes were merging and this guy did not want me to get over. So when I got in front of him he made some gestures and I went out of my way to say some unkind things about him. God checked me!

Watch the things you say!

Your tongue can speck

life or death,

victory or defeat,

insecurity or confidence,

trust or doubt,

weakness or strength!

Proverbs 4:23

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

Words can either encourage or discourage. You would be surprised on how your words are affecting your situation and/or circumstances! Ask for Gods forgiveness he is a very understanding Father!  Do better and have better intentions about what comes out your mouth.

Proverbs 13:1-5 NIV

“A wise son heeds his father’s instruction, but a mocker does not respond to rebukes.”“From the fruit of their lips people enjoy good things, but the unfaithful have an appetite for violence.”“Those who guard their lips preserve their lives, but those who speak rashly will come to ruin.”“A sluggard’s appetite is never filled, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied.”“The righteous hate what is false, but the wicked make themselves a stench and bring shame on themselves.”

Jesus I thank you for this beautiful day you have given me! I pray for wisdom and understanding. Lord I lay at your feet asking for forgiveness, asking for grace Lord please soften my heart. Help me to think before I act or speak God! If there is anyone who I have hurt or made uneasy with my words or actions Lord I pray you open there heart to forgiveness God. For all of my brothers and sisters in Christ out there who are going through what I am going through Lord I pray for them and for their strength to do better!  AMEN!
