You Have the Power

All right—so I’m kicking things off today with a simple reminder:

You have the power.

The power to bring life, or the power to bring death—and it all rests in the words you speak.

Proverbs explains it best and says it plainly:

“The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.”

Proverbs 18:21 (NLT)

Now, the word consequences might sound negative, but in this case, it’s not necessarily bad—it just means there will be results. What you say will create something. Words are never neutral. They build or they break.

And today, I want to focus less on the words we speak about others and more on the words we speak about ourselves.

Let me paint a picture for you:

If the words you spoke about yourself were visible—if words that brought life appeared as white light on you, and words that brought death appeared as dark markings—what would you look like?

• Would you be glowing bright?

• Would there be shadows mixed with light?

• Would your body show signs of damage from self-spoken defeat?

The truth is, as children of God, we are made in His image—and if we are made in His image, we should reflect His image.

But if the words we’re feeding ourselves aren’t aligned with who He says we are, we need to ask:

Are we truly reflecting Him?

Today, choose life.

Choose freedom. Choose healing. Choose wholeness.

You don’t have to go searching far to know who you are—it’s already written in His Word.

So speak it.

Make declarations over yourself. Remind your spirit of what God already says about you.

You have the power.

Use it to speak the life you want to see.
