WE SEEN MONSTERS BEFORE!

I remember watching a battle rap round and where it seemed like one of opponents was getting the best of the other guy. This was a 1v1 situation but each had their entourage on stage with them. The crowd was going crazy and it seemed like it was going to be an upset and lop sided victory. Then it was the other guys turn and I watched him weather through every rap bar until he got to a punchline and BOOOM! The entire room erupted with people cheering. One of the guys from his entourage began yelling "WE SEEN MONSTERS BEFORE!!".

For some reason that stuck with me and I'm glad it did. In that moment he was acknowledging the battle in front of his friend was a crazy one but also acknowledging at the same time...battles with "monsters" have been survived and won by simply saying "We seen monsters before!". It was triumphant. It was his way of saying we are warriors, the best, and check the track record, we have stood in these moments with "monsters" and they too have been slayed.

He was yelling it at the crowd but also telling his friend in the battle. Reminding him, we've been here before and we're STILL HERE!

I find myself in situations where I have to remember I've seen monsters before and wasted time panicking instead of trusting God. My panic may not look like your panicking but all in all it comes down to me over analyzing situations and trying to solve them as if God has not brought me the "head" of the sitauatons or "monsters" in my life before.

Of course I can look back into the word of God and see the moments like Goliath the giant being slain by the unsupecting David (1 Samuel 17) or God turning armies on themselves( Judges 7) or seemingly impenetrable fortress walls crashing down and destroying full armies (Joshua 6:1–27)...but I can also simply take a breather and look back on my life. I see the Goliath's that have fallen, the walls of enemy fortresses that have come crashing down in my life! The enemies that seem to have had the upper hand, confused and even though I was outnumbered, they could do nothing with me because God said so!

Had the description of Goliath (the giant slain by David) not been made and the moment described around it...Goliath falling wouldn't have carried the miraculous weight it does. Had the number of the enemies Judges not been recorded the victory over them wouldn't have carried so much weight! It's ok to fully acknowledge the ugliest and depth of the situation that you are currently facing. Feel free to describe it with all the words you possibly can and every part of it that it is trying to drive you to fear and/or panic. NOW, do the same with the God of the heavens of the universe that calls you HIS. If you can't go into depth about your "monsters" that have been slain before you...feel free to go into depth about the God of the universe that parted full seas for his children and drown their enemies in the same waters. The God that put every star in place. The God that literally put flesh on, walked the earth, conquered and defeated death.

You may be facing a giant today. A situation that’s roaring in your face and trying to break you down. But here’s your reminder:

WE SEEN MONSTERS BEFORE!

And they fell.

Speak it. Pray it. Believe it.You’re not standing alone. The God who shut lions’ mouths, parted seas, and silenced storms is standing right beside you—yelling:

“Fear not, for I am with you!” (Isaiah 41:10)

Yes, the same God that calmed seas in the midst of the storms for others is with you AND the moment you want to say "well that was for them...", make sure you acknowledge that the same God calls you HIS and is not a "respecter of persons". No giant before you, no mountain, enemy, sea, situation or sin is ALLOWED to have victory over you...God said so BEFORE and He's saying it NOW!

WE SEEN MONSTERS BEFORE!!!!
